A trip to remember Hundred Islands, Alaminos Pangasinan

June 28,2012, Pasay City -

News all around metro about Hurricane Dindo didn't stop the most exciting trip of joshy, samy & jiji anne. We took off to alaminos via FiveStar Bus Lines around 1:30pm.

Well it was a Nerve-trembling ride knowing that the place you were going to was already tagged as Signal #1 by PAGASA. is a Philippine national institution dedicated to provide flood and typhoon warnings, public weather forecasts and advisories, meteorological, astronomical, climatological, and other specialized information and services primarily for the protection of life and property and in support of economic, productivity and sustainable developmentSome friends we were communicating informed us to take good care of ourselves and almost bid the last goodbye since we didn't know what we were heading to.

on board with five star bus line
It is not more than 7hour trip since we were slowed down by heavy rains along the way.It is dark when we got there, just right after we set our tired feet on the land of pangasinan, these herd of tricycle drivers headed towards us offering service to take us to lucap wharf where all accommodations for tourist were available.

Since our parents taught us not to talk to strangers, we walked away from them declining their service. But this tall dark and blank guy (hehe) kept on pestering us, said he knows a place where we could stay for the whole trip. He said that the place is called Bolo Beach resort where it is a beachfront resort, 15minute boat ride to the Islands, He persuaded us to stay there since it will be cheaper compared to Lucap Accommodations. We were convinced.

Before that trip by the way, we have already contacted some accommodations near Lucap. So before heading out to the said by place by "kuya" we checked on it. Lucky us, its closed, maybe because of the typhoon that's why they weren't open for business at that time.

Cottages -Mountain Ridge
There were few streetlights were available on our way to Bolo Beach, we were already hungry, its 8 o'clock in the evening and we were really scared about the place, since its really dark, i was thinking about the movie "wrong turn".

Grasses and trees everywhere, few houses per kilometer can be seen and it seems like they were already into their beds in a deep sleep, that no loud squeak could wake them up.

Adobong Puti ni Mommy
Finally, after a long ride, we arrived at Mountain Ridges, Bgy Pandan, Alaminos,Pangasinan, We were welcomed by a lady with short gray hair (scary) but she smiled at us and say "magandang gabi" ("good evening") we were relieved, she showed us our cottage, there were only three cottages where we could stay for the night.

Others are for daytime stay with just benches and table. We can hear the waves just right in front of us. It is still dark, so we arent able to appreciate the place at that time. Right after we've settled our things, we ate our brought "ulam" which is adobo courtesy of samy's mom and the  hot rice we bought from town which is only for 8php/cup.

We were so tired like T-I-R-E-D, so we headed to bed...

We woke up at 4:30am to view the sun rise, i know, i know its really early to wait for the sun to rise but jiji Anne insisted to wake us up and have coffee while waiting. Samy added that we weren't there to sleep.

the most awaited sunrise @ alaminos, cloudy morning since hurricane dindo just passed by.
front of the main gate
at the nearby resort
we walked on the beach took some pictures & collected some shells then went back to the cottage to warm up those  tummies, we didn't want to have a bad day, didn't we?

nearby island front of mountain ridge resort
Nanay Mely prepared a table with
hot water,coffee,
creamer
and
sugar
 for us.
We ate it with bread
and cheese spread,
with coated peanuts.

By 8:00am we got ready to take a tour around Hundred Islands. The Boatmen were just neighbors of Nay Mely, they prepared the boat, they told us that the charge is supposed to be 1400php , we tried to haggle it down to 900 since its only 3 of us, but we can only get it until 1200..  =(( sad..NayMely prepared for us our lunch, well it was just rice and some plates, we just brought the adobo from last night and the salted eggs for our viand.

Lopez Island is the first stop, we were with another boat at that time, they were fishing boats, i asked one of them if they have already caught fish so we can have it as our lunch. But they have gone to fish yet since it is windy at that time and waves are really huge.

Next stop was Marcos island, i really don't know why it is called marcos island. In this Island we spent the most of our day Since the view is really nice from above, we also went to imelda cave which you can swim going there or you can jump from the top of the island, your choice

You can swim from the shore going to Imelda cave
or maybe use a life vest which is provided by the boatmen,
if you don't know how to swim, and just float going to
the cave
view from top of the island -imelda cave, you can just jump in there
just be sure you know how to swim since it is really deep down there.
By the way, there were lots of bats at the ceiling of this cave, dare to jump
with the fruit bats. hehe.
Weird looking flower, its like a flower within a flower,
Lovely view from the top of marcos island.Overlooking the bluish waters of  Hundred Islands and its fine white sand

and that's me.. XD

If your looking for a fun adventurous way in going to Hundred Islands without spending that much, I'd suggest you stay here at Mountain Ridges, Bolo Beach . We spent a night for P900 and a boat ride tour to hundred islands for P1,200/ for 3person.

Here's the contact number of the very accommodating
tricycle driver named richard,
text him up  at # 09124223917 . He can take you anywhere so
you can buy your pasalubongs /take-homes right after. for just 120php

For the the one who managed the resort that's NayMely ,
here is her number --- #09164902158 or 09155489710

Tips before going there :
1.)  Make sure to bring mosquito repellent.

2.) Bring lots of food with you, since there is no market nearby,
the resort owner can cook it for you while you are having fun in the sun.
